![]() Whenever she is in battle its like the show pretends her deafness doesnt exist in those moments and is simply ignored, which is a discredit to the character itself.Īt this point, i want to point towards Toph from the last airbender show as a comparison who is a much better written character imo who also has to deal with a major disability. When it comes to combat and fighting scenes, her disability never really affects her (neither that she is a woman who might have to go up against physically stronger male opponents, but thats a different topic). The fact that she is deaf never really impacts her in a negative way other than when she needs a translator to talk to people in sign language.
